Tornabuoni Arte is glad to celebrate 20 years of activity by the Forte dei Marmi venue with an exhibition that brings together iconic artworks, synthesis of the creativity and talent of the Gallery’s most representative artists.
From Fontana’s Cuts to Atchugarry’s sculptures, from Boetti’s Maps to de Chirico’s mannequins, from Balla’s Futurism to Picasso’s Cubism: the exhibition is a homage to the history of Tornabuoni Arte, as well as an opportunity to celebrate together these two decades of intense activity in Forte dei Marmi.
The Tornabuoni Arte team is delight to present a digital guide to the most significant artistic locations in Forte dei Marmi, a seaside town rich in history, art and culture.
The town’s name comes from the two symbols that have marked its history: the Fortino, established as a defence base in the late 18th century, that has now become an important exhibition centre, and the marble of the Apuan Alps beloved by artists over the centuries. This precious marble, traded extensively, allowed Forte dei Marmi to transform itself from a wooded marshland into a popular summer destination.
