Nathalie Sizaret: Painting as an Inner Quest

Born in 1962 in Paris, Nathalie Sizaret is a painter whose artistic journey is marked by a profound exploration of the human being and its mysteries. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1987, she settled in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where she began her career in her first studio before exhibiting in prestigious salons and galleries in France and abroad.

Her work is an invitation to contemplation, an inner journey where the human body becomes the language of an existential quest. Between figuration and abstraction, her canvases are crossed by a tension between shadow and light, between the tangible and the intangible. She works with mixed media, combining acrylic for its spontaneity, oil for the depth of its nuances, collage for the memory of forms, and words that sometimes complete the visual dialogue.

A Painting Between Humanity and Spirituality

Nathalie Sizaret draws inspiration from the very act of painting, without preparatory sketches, allowing her figures to emerge as a revelation. Deeply rooted in the study of the human body, her work explores its fragility and inner resonance. The nude is omnipresent in her art, treated with a sensitivity where the line interacts with a limited yet vibrant palette, dominated by earthy tones, flashes of red, and orange accents.

Her artistic universe evokes philosophical and mystical reflections. Far from being a mere academic exercise, her work is imbued with a form of spirituality, where the act of painting becomes an exploration of the soul and time itself. Raw textures, torn and layered backgrounds reveal an instinctive approach that seeks to probe the invisible beyond appearances.

Exhibitions and Recognition

Her artistic career is punctuated by numerous solo and group exhibitions in major salons and galleries, including the Salon des Beaux-Arts, the Salon de la Jeune Peinture, Réalités Nouvelles, the Salon d’Automne, and the Salon d’Art Sacré, as well as in various Parisian and regional galleries (Galerie Stam, Galerie des Carrés, Galerie Arte-Viva…). In 2012, 2013, and 2016, she participated in MacParis, an event recognized for its selection of contemporary artists, and more recently, she was awarded the Gold Medal in Painting at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2024.

Today, Nathalie Sizaret lives and works in Asnières-sur-Seine, continuing her artistic path with the same relentless quest: to paint the unspeakable, between presence and absence, between body and soul.

"The body and the soul are the form and color that shape my paintings. They are born from the state of surrender experienced in the moment and the desire for creation." – Nathalie Sizaret

Mixed media: Acrylic for its immediacy, oil for its generosity in the time it offers me to explore forms, paper for memory, and words for sharing. The drawing of a past and that of a present rich in diversity and otherness.

Nathalie Sizaret
's painting is the expression of an ongoing quest of human and divine. Figurative and dreamlike, the human body is the main theme of his work. A body that she presents on gross funds, glued, torn, printed.

The hybrid side of the artist's work lies not only in the use of various techniques such as acrylic, oil, collage but also in the presence of these figurative body, which flirt with classicism. "The body and soul are the shape and color that make my paintings. They arise from the state of abandonment experienced in the moment and in the creation of desire. "

Born in Paris in 1962, Nathalie Sizaret graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
